This project is not a public investment, as you might expect! The ice hockey rink in Remetea commune, Harghita county, is a prize and a gift made to the local team of champions of this sport. Private investment supports the performances that have been achieved and contributes to future ones. How can there be a special, introverted, large-scale building in a locality that cannot offer a public place for such a thing in its structure? The site allowed us to opt for a solitary construction, separate from the structure of the village, designed on the landscape, present but distant. In the DNA of this building, we placed the technological, industrial, precise and clear references of the ice-making machine in an oasis detached from the rest of the surrounding world. We used the lesson of projects for production and logistics, that is, the spatial steel structures for large openings and the closures made of prefabricated sandwich panels, carefully cut and joined to obtain large and clean surfaces… like the shine of ice. We consider the approach as an architecture of efficiency and adaptation. Don’t be too surprised if Remetea becomes the ice hockey capital of Romania! We showed you what is being prepared here.
