A house for a friend who has acquired a very beautiful land, private and with an ascending slope. The first attempts at a house with an obvious contemporary expression did not convince him. He wanted something that was “both modern and classic.” Challenge accepted. An overlap over a basic volume built on axes of symmetry, a pyramidal roof with a cornice connected and tamed with stained wood reflections. The pilasters expressed on the outside have strengthened the classic character, corresponding to the structural openings. The window openings were placed freely, functionally, balancing the composition towards the contemporary. Inside, everything revolves around the vertical axis of the central skylight. The library floor is made of structural glass, so as not to deprive the place of the table of light. The attempt to combine the austere minimalist with the comfortable homely led this project which quickly turned into a family home.
