Brașov City Hall has initiated the transformation of the former industrial platform to evaluate the recovery and conversion potential of the existing built and unbuilt territory. This competition is a natural continuation of this approach and proposes several objectives that address the complexities of the current situation at three complementary scales, triggering multiple directions for transformation.
The process of reactivating and transforming the industrial complex and its surrounding area will be based on the following strategies and methods: fostering transformation through creative entrepreneurs, residents, and tourists; gradually activating the area through experiments and temporary attractions designed to spark curiosity, interest, satisfaction, and user loyalty; and promoting progressive change as a host space, experimental space, and destination space through discovery, exploration, adoption, transformation, valorization, development, and connection.
